Daughter wants to  get a small mac notebook for college, mostly to do college work on but also to play music. needs something that will also be able to run windows based programs. any ideas I am not an expert in macs

All macs can actually run windows now! If you don't wanna go that way, you can get MS Office for macs too.

You can't go wrong with a Macbook (which is what my kids have)...

You can get more expensive macs, but this one is pretty much perfect for the needs of most.

thanks for that will let her know. will the mac os run windows programs or do you need to load windows onto a seperate partion or something.
